Catie Sully

Catie is a Canadian born artis that now calls Australia home. She is a multidisciplinary artist working in a number of different mediums. Her primary focus is copper, incorporating various mediums into her sculptures. Currently she is exploring the use of ceramics and how it can add a different dimension to her metal sculptures. Figurative clay and bronze work is also being used. Her sculptural works made with copper reflect her love of the natural environment and especially the native Australian landscape.

Before coming to Australia, Catie was involved in many different artistic endeavors. While living in Japan, she studied “Noh Mask” carving (traditional wooden masks used in ancient theatre performances) and “Oshie” (an old art form of making pictures using kimono silk). Mosaics, woodwork and working with glass are also part of her accomplishments
