enjoy delving into the Artists' Biographies
Gareth Graham
I have been sculpting in timber since I was in school, working initially in relief and with botanical themes.
After travelling to Italy at the age of 19 where I first viewed the work of Michaelangelo, I became interested in sculpting the figure.
Since then I’ve explored the human form, in particular human physiognomy. My practise includes marble carving, after having won a scholarship to visit Carrara in 2007, where I undertook a marble carving course.
Exhibitions
I have exhibited since 2005 in Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra.
My work is currently on display in Harvey Gallery in Seaforth. As well as being represented by Manon and Moss in Bungendore.
Collections
My work is held in private collections nationally and internationally, as well as in the Newcastle Region Art Gallery.
