Matthew Aberline
BABY URCHINS by The Beautiful and Useful Studio with artist Matthew Aberline. This work continues a theme of works inspired by nature that explodes the scale to new proportions in a playful way. Sustainability is at the heart of the work, and is made from recycled PET polyester in a studio that uses 100% solar power.
Matthew Aberline is known for his dynamic collaborations with unique community groups and projects – having worked with and shown work at The Grafton, Maitland, Bathurst, Wollongong and Bega Regional Galleries and created public art works of the City of Sydney, Wagga Wagga City Council and Albury City Council. He has shown at Sculpture by the Sea numerous times.
Born in Melbourne but was raised in the Pilbara desert and then the Whitsunday Islands. Currently based on Gadigal land, the city of Sydney. Loves working with textiles and uses them to create amazing architectural objects.
