My sculptures are informed by situations where the puzzles of life are ever present. Being an optimist my struggle with these challenges often adopts a playful, even whimsical, approach to the subject. The forms are simple and often stylised. My works in timber and bronze engage with the figure while exploring themes of relationships and a sense of self.
The bronze works juxtapose highly polished facades with dark textured faces, reflecting life’s differing outlooks and relationships.
Recent explorations in the Augmented Reality realm provide new challenges.
I seek to provide an insight into the soul, capturing for the viewer an emotion they feel or have felt or indeed would like to feel.
