Biography

Mark Niglia from country Victoria, creates movement and life that allows others to interpret feeling through sculpture. He uses the energy of distorted metals to instinctively create life-size sculptures. Mark\'s artistic practice relies upon raw creativity to ensure every art piece is unique. His style incorporates the strength and power of the materials he uses, positioning pieces in a tumultuous yet organised way creating shapes and lines that portray his vision. The strength and power that a horse possesses, yet its ability to calm and heal allows Mark to create a wide breadth of emotion through the form of a horse.

I studied at La Trobe University, Melbourne completing a Graduate Diploma in Technology Education with a focus on art, design and creativity. My most recent solo exhibition is at Tallis Wines Dookie. Currently, I have work displayed at the Roadside Gallery in Wollombi. In the past I have had works displayed at many local vineyards, public areas and events throughout country Victoria.

I am driven by the desire to communicate emotion. I create movement and life that allows others to interpret feeling through sculpture.
Horses fascinate me, their movement is effortless with little to no resistance. They possess strength and power, yet have the ability to calm and heal. Being able to capture that single moment when a horse can resemble a human emotion, is what I endeavour to sculpt.

My style incorporates the strength and power of the material I use. Positioning pieces in a tumultuous yet organised way that create shapes and lines to portray my vision.

I use the energy of distorted metals, charred wood and fragmented concrete to instinctively create life-size sculptures. My artistic practise relies upon raw creativity to ensure every art piece is unique.
