Leeroy Chapman is a emerging artist currently residing in Newcastle, Australia. At the closing end of his bachelors in fine arts at the University of Newcastle where he is a major in sculpture. Leeroy's work is constantly exploring new ideas and approaches to the traditional sculpture of the western canon.
Focusing on ideas of the body and how we can convey meaning through the use of materials, as Leeroy think that’s through finding meaning can we express concepts that can create change. While study Leeroy is also an avid supporter of the arts, working throughout multiple organisations in the Hunter to engage young audiences.
He has further plans of continuing study to develop his practice through studio based research, while also working throughout the arts sector. Leeroy hopes once he’s competed studies to do a 2 year tour across multiple countries to further understand the cultural and historic significance sculpture has had on humanity
