Rosemary Reynolds
Rosemary Reynolds explores the idea of the gift in its ultimate form when one’s body, after life, is donated to medical science for understanding and further knowledge. Her forms attempt to create empathy with their textures and materials. She explores ideas of connection and absence within her works
She enjoys experimenting with different media including paper, felt and bronze.
Rosemary Reynolds completed a BFA (Hons 1) at Newcastle University in 2017. Her work has been exhibited from 2014 – 2018 in the galleries of : Acrux (2016,2017); Contemporary North (2015,2015); Timeless Textiles (2015); The University Gallery (2017,2018); Watt Space (2014, 2015, 2016, 2016, 2017,2018); and in Godfrey Tanner Bar (2016) and the Anatomy Laboratory (2015-2018), University of Newcastle.
Her work relates the internal body to the organic nature of our surroundings and draws these two elements together within sculpture and print. A variety of mediums are explored within her sculptures, including bronze, resin, wax, wool, paper, plastic and found materials.
