This ceramic relief wall hanging sculpture is inspired by Bucephalus, the battle horse of Alexander the Great capturing the electric energy and intense pre-battle nerves of a highly spirited warhorse.
Work is fitted with a chain and O ring for hanging.
Glazed ceramic and gold acrylic paint.
English oak timber apple with mild steel stalk. Carved with chainsaw, rasp and orbital sander. Steel was forged into shape using blacksmith techniques.
Let’s Dance borrows shapes from succulents, natures living sculptures. The forms stand proud and ready for some fun.
The pieces are hand built from clay with impressed natural textures.
One of a series of “hand pieces” intended to be touched.
The polished marble is silky smooth; the rough chiselled marble reveals the stone’s crystalline structure.
Pleaching means to combine; threads indicate a connectedness – seed pods symbolically pertain to new life. Nature is the progenitor – an immersive experience. The work is about reconnecting and allowing nature a place in our thinking.
Created with the human figure in mind, abstract shapes come together to create a shape shifting intrigue.
An indulgent display of colours utilising a wide variety of the rainbow spectrum set in a rustic reclaimed Australian hardwood frame.
My studio is my sanctuary, where I turn inanimate objects into objects full of life. Here I stare at the night sky like Galileo did before me and dream.
This set of work unfolds the visual narrative of my play Alice in the Antipathies created as intercultural dialogue on movement and settlement in identity.
Rock’n’Roll is about the aesthetic of movement and the flow of line and form from one figure to another. I’ve used the organic shape of the human body and parabolic lines of flow to represent this.
