Location

Inspired by the free spirit of our Australian Brumby. To see these horses in their natural environment running free through our bush and drinking from icy streams is something to be captured and held. So proud and deviant, it’s with awe that I watched and hoped to encapsulate these memories in my work.

The Glass is Kiln Fired in relief. The timber is an Australian Gum Tree.

Cherie Platen

Cherie Platen

I am a Lower Hunter Artisan working in 2D and 3D works in Kiln and Torch Fired Glass. Initially trained by Peter Minson, Master Glass Artist, and studied in later years in Venice, Murano Island, I have gone on to create my own Studio and Gallery.

Being an avid traveller, I feel deeply connected to Nature and the Flow of its Energy, especially in remote places removed from western civilisation as we know it today.

My explorations in glass seeks to reflect the Flow, Light and Movement of Natures Elements and Living Energy.
