Cal the Stoner
Cal the Stoner is an artisan stonemason, sculptor and creator of sculptural technique Intricarved Stone Sculpture, intricately carved stone.
Cal sculpts mainly in a beautiful vein of cream gold and rose red Grampians sandstone. In his early works, he followed the natural lines and images as they emerged. The first large pieces led to a smaller portable series.
Initially focussing on geomatics’, in His later works Cal turned to large scale intricately carved animate objects. He continues to push the boundaries of his craft.
Exhibitions
Cal the Stoner has exhibited in the St Kilda Art Crawl,
Herring Island Summer Festival,
Melbourne International Garden Festival and with the Sculptural association of sculptors Victoria.
Cal the Stoner has a visitor sculpture studio in Andamooka, South Australia.
