The Powerful Owl captures the intensity and grace of an owl mid-landing, wings spread in a powerful arc. Carved in rich timber, every feather is detailed to reflect movement and precision.

The sculpture pays homage to the owl’s silent strength and watchful presence in the wild. With piercing eyes and poised talons, it evokes both beauty and respect for nature’s predators.

Sculptor Bio

Robert Fry

Robert Fry

After a long career as a Technical Support Manager for the Pacific, I transitioned to pursue my passion for wildlife and timber sculpting. My work first gained attention through galleries in Oberon and Bathurst, with pieces and commissions acquired by international visitors.

Encouraged by early success, I began exhibiting more widely. A pivotal moment came when I met Babette Forster Gomme (V.P., Sculptors Society), whose mentorship inspired me to expand my practice. Today, I create in wood, bronze, stone, resin, concrete, and bone.

When immersed in nature or sculpting, I feel truly connected, centred and creatively fulfilled.
