Lovingly named Rusty, this one-of-a-kind figure brings together old-world charm and imaginative reuse. Created from a long-forgotten mannequin and salvaged pressed tin, Rustique is a celebration of beauty found in the weathered, the worn and the rediscovered.
Artist Dee Hogan grew up on a family farm in Wollar NSW, where she developed a lifelong love for vintage objects and rural relics. Her work reflects a deep connection to history, memory, and the character of old things given new life.

Rustique | 2025
A few years ago, I was fortunate to come across some beautifully aged, pressed tin from the Hunter and Mudgee regions. Surrounded by a collection of reclaimed timber and vintage furniture in my shed, I was inspired to breathe new life into forgotten materials.
My first creation—a reimagined Christmas tree—sparked what would become Tin Unique. Since then, I've continued crafting sculptural pieces that blend nostalgia with sustainability: clocks, planters, dragonflies, and more.
What began as a passion project has now grown into a meaningful practice, showcased at local markets and within a vibrant makers collective in Wauchope, NSW.
This is the first time entering any of my work in a show or competition.
