Location

The Apartment draws on notions of the architecture of the home.

The work is fabricated using intuition and intent, cutting and arranging abstracted steel geometries and considering the harmony of positive and negative space within each piece. The work is then painted to expand the narrative properties of an imagined architecture.

Sculptor Bio

Tracey Lamb

Tracey Lamb

I have a BFA (Hons) from the VCA and an MFA from Monash University. My sculptural practice has developed over the past 18 years; however, I have practised art for many decades. I have exhibited in over 150 exhibitions, and undertaken artist talks, teaching, open studios and several residencies and commissions.

I work from my home studio, primarily fabricating with steel as a self-taught welder. My sculptures are inspired by the architecture of the home. Positive and negative space have equal importance, with layered planes of abstract geometries used to create a captivating and dynamic viewing experience.
