Sculpture on the Farm at “Fosterton” will display a broad range of work, from intimate to monumental sculpture, in conjunction with the renowned Dungog Festival, in the Hunter Valley. This exhibition and sale of both indoor and outdoor sculptures will provide sculptors with a new opportunity to exhibit in a rural setting in the heart of the iconic Fosterton Valley.

1           Sculptor Registration Information Form and Sculpture Details Form

The online entry requires you to complete the Sculptor Registration Information form AND the Sculpture Details form, for up to three works.

2           Entry Fee

There is a $30 non-refundable Entry Fee per artist which is payable via direct deposit at the time of your entry submission.

3           Selection Panel

The Selection Committee will consider all entries and its decision on works and proposals will be final.  Artists both successful and unsuccessful in their entry will be notified before 1 June 2019. All works must be professionally completed, able to be installed safely for public exhibition and be the original work of the submitting artist. Any work that is deemed not fit for exhibition will be excluded from the exhibition.

4           Judging Panel, Prizes and Awards

An independent Judging Panel will select the prize-winners and any decision by the Judging Panel will be final.  Announcement of the members of the Judging Panel will be made on the Sculpture on the Farm website prior to the opening of the exhibition. Prize-winners for most categories will be announced at the Preview and Gala Opening Party on Friday 4 October 2019. The People’s Choice and Children’s Choice Awards will be announced on Monday 7 October at 11am.

5           Installation and Removal of Sculptures

All sculptures must be delivered to and be installed at “Fosterton” 824 Fosterton Road, Dungog on FRIDAY 4th October between 7am and 12noon, or by prior arrangement. Artists who require an extended period for installation or have particular requirements such as the need for access for heavy vehicles or a power source, must contact Philippa Graham 0407202838 or to make the necessary arrangements.

Artists must ensure works are clearly labelled on delivery, with the title of the work and name of the artist. Sculpture on the Farm will provide a catalogue and the numbering for all works.

Artists are responsible for installation and removal of their work. Artists must bring their own tools and other people to help if needed. All sites must be returned to their original condition after an artist’s work has been removed. Sculpture on the Farm will provide a crane and tractor onsite for assistance with installation of larger works but the Artist must supervise and be responsible for any damage to their work and/or the surrounding area. If a crane or tractor is required on site the Artist must contact Philippa Graham beforehand in order to make the necessary arrangements.

The Artist, or representative of the artist, will be responsible for maintaining the presentation of their work throughout the exhibition, especially in the event of severe weather conditions. At the conclusion of the exhibition, sculptures that are not sold must be collected in person from “Fosterton” after 12.30pm and prior to 4pm on Monday 7th October 2019, or by prior arrangement with Philippa Graham.  Sculptures must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and must be removed as agreed, in order that “Fosterton” can return to its farming activities.

6           Transportation

Artists are responsible for the transportation of their sculptures to and from the exhibition. Freight and transport costs in both directions are the responsibility of the Artists.

7           Insurance

All risk during the exhibition remains with the artists at all times. Sculpture on the Farm, “Fosterton” and Graers Pastoral, take no responsibility and provide no insurance cover for damage to or theft of any items associated with the exhibition, during the installation and de-installation processes and throughout the exhibition, irrespective of whomever handles the work.

8           Sales

All works must be available for sale throughout the exhibition. Works must be priced to sell with no discounts allowed at the end of the exhibition. Sculpture on the Farm will retain a 25% commission on all sales, which should be taken into consideration when pricing the work for sale. For all sculpture sales: transport, removal and insurance will be the responsibility of the artist and the purchaser.

9           Site Allocation

Artists are welcome to visit the site by prior arrangement to discuss location and installation considerations. The Sculpture on the Farm Curator is responsible for the site selection of all sculptures in the exhibition. Final site selection for all sculptures in the exhibition is at the discretion of the Curator.

10       Images of Works

Each work submitted requires at least TWO good quality JPEG images (minimum 300 dpi). The second image is required to be taken from a different angle to help with the selection process.  The artist authorizes Sculpture on the Farm to reproduce the artwork in the exhibition catalogue, publicity, in media releases and other promotions including social media, in relation to Sculpture on the Farm.
