Emergence speaks of themes of interconnectedness, kinetic energy, and connectivity.
Elements of chaos are held within a contained unfolding form that rely on each other to make sense. This unfurling evokes themes of cyclic renewal and circularity.

Sculptor Bio

Ulan & Rachel

Ulan & Rachel

We, Ulan Murray and Rachel Burns, are long-time partners in life and art. Our collaborative sculptural practice merges scientific curiosity with artistic sensitivity.

Drawing on our backgrounds in biology, horticulture, and fine arts, we explore the profound and often unseen connections between humanity and the natural world.

Ulan is a lapsed biologist and former horticulturist, while Rachel holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts with Honours. Our work speaks to a contemporary desire for stillness and presence, inviting viewers to reconnect with the intricate, often unseen relationships between people and the environment.
