Height includes 80 x 90 granite base. If displayed outdoors the sculpture with base will be mounted on a 90cm high polished concrete plinth.
If a buyer would like to position the piece outdoors the sculptor can manufacture another concrete plinth which will cost around $800 – $1000. As with all my sculptures, this piece is very much about the material with which I am working.
This luminescent white Carrara Marble with its hints of where veins might lie influenced the fundamental form.
I constantly strive to creative a sense of movement, of dynamism.
With this sculpture I am inviting the viewer to ask; what is the figure expressing in her posture or movement?
To me she represents dynamism and the naked human desire to perform or compete.

In 2022 I established my Wingham studio following a 6-year period of sculpture practice in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, and Sydney. Prior to setting up these studios I studied at The Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School, Sydney. During my 5-year student journey, I gained proficiency in most traditional sculptural mediums. Since 2010 I've focused my practice on marble sculpture, participating in 4 intensive marble carving workshops with Carrara, Italy-based Master Carver; Alnassar. My work is held in private collections in: São Paulo (Brazil), Chicago (USA), Sydney & Melbourne, Dunedin, Hamilton & Kerikeri (New Zealand).
I was born in Auckland (Tamaki Makarau) New Zealand (Aotearoa) and worked for many years in the Advertising industry. Throughout my working life I have practised art, in particular sculpture, on a part time basis. During the period 2006 - 2011 I studied sculpture at the Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School in Erskineville, Sydney. My first studio was established in Naremburn, Sydney After several years of practice I moved to the Bay of Islands, (Ipipiri) New Zealand (Aotearoa) and set up my second sculpture studio, exhibiting in several outdoor and indoor sculpture prizes over six years. My work was stocked by a total of 4 galleries in NZ during that period. In 2022 I moved to Wingham (Wingan in the Biripi language) where I set up my third sculpture studio. I'm very happy to be living in Wingan, Biripi country.
