As a child, I often visited my grandparent’s property in Cootamundra. My grandfather taught me to trap rabbits, a skill he’d learned in the 1940s in Moree. Although hares are also an introduced species, he said he didn’t want me to catch them. He said I should just watch the hares from a distance. They’re solitary animals – observant, dignified and wise – just like my grandfather.

I often have my best thoughts right before sleep, so I keep a notepad by my bedside to quickly jot them down. I find that I can realise my ideas more easily in three dimensions. I suspect that comes from my background in industrial design. I prefer working with plasticine instead of clay because of its versatility in assuming various forms. I can mould it as a hot liquid, sculpt it like clay when it's warm, and carve it like wood when it's cold. I make my own moulds, a skill I acquired while working at a special effects studio.

I was born in 1998 in Stamford, Connecticut, to an American father and an Australian mother, relocated to Australia at the age of seven.

I am interested in the relationship between animals and humans and, by extension, explores human society through an animalistic, surrealist lens. Delving into various topics, including the impact of invasive species on native fauna, the epidemic of loneliness and the rise of obesity.

After completing my Bachelor of Industrial Design at the University of Technology Sydney, I honed my skills in mould-making, sculpting, and animatronics at a special effects studio, gaining valuable experience. A shift to software engineering left me devoid of working with his hands, leading me to join the Tom Bass Sculpture Studio in Erskineville two years ago.

Harnessing my versatility across different mediums, I possess the ability to express my ideas in a dimension that extends beyond the confines of 2D art.
