UFO Utopia | 2023

This work is an extension of previous sculptures that explore my interest in the Soviet Era monuments. I take the visual language of that art form and put my own spin on the work that also incorporates science fiction and outer space travel. This work is a symmetrical sculpture that blooms from the ground, and offers the viewer angles and through lines.

There are a myriad of connections and relationships within the animal kingdom, and I hope that humans care for the planet to protect these symbiotic relationships. In this work a Kangaroo providing the fur to line the nest of Brown Headed Honey Eaters.

My childhood is filled with memories of adventures I had riding my horse long distances after school. Often, I would be riding after dark enjoying the peace and tranquility and the beauty of the night sky. In these moments it felt like we were the only two on earth.

Midway along the path of life

The odyssey of the figure in the boat is a metaphor relating to life’s journey, a voyage through time. An enigmatic situation which takes on symbolic values and multiple layers of meaning.
