Ngatji Blowing a Rainbow | 2018

Rainbow and body in two separate parts. Can be hung on wall or hung from ceiling. Best if hung so there is light shining through the glass.

Rainbow dimensions 122 x 80 cm
Ngatji dimensions 40 x 388 cm The stained glass rainbow and steel Ngatji is a statement of the power of the ancestors and the belief that they will be able to over ride the greed of the cotton growers.

This is the kind of story that is told throughout the colonisation of Barkandji. The message here is cotton growers beware, as our ancestors are powerful!

The stained glass echoes a church window and is also a statement about our sacred ancestors and sacred water and rivers.

It’s a bit windy today | 2022

I could fry an egg on the bonnet of my car.

Possession | 2022

What gap does art fill?  What could “letting go” allow to create?  Why own art?  Do we want to own beauty?

Carnal raw beauty, no glamour, insinuating shapes, cheap materials, modest.

To own the simplicity is my path to be over this dilemma … my yearning to break free from possession.

Ngartatja (Black Shag) 2 | 2020

These birds are very special to Barkandji people. The rivers are not the same without them, and they are getting scarcer every year. They are like family, some tell us where the fish are, or tell us if danger is approaching. We listen to them and watch their movements, they let us know what is happening.

Under tension | 2023

This piece is one of a series of different creations each exploring the transformation of inanimate steel into different textures and shapes expressing emotions and feelings. This piece is presenting the appearance of wound up tension held in place by one small balancing item but on the cusp of potential unravelling at any moment.

Sculptural vessel number two | 2023

I loved creating this vessel, the slightly twisted form and the extended leaves were extra tricky but fun to accomplish.
Instead of making a vase in the traditional sense, I hoped to create a different and more interesting vessel which in itself has the idea of leaves in the form and enhances the normality straight idea of a vase.

This form has a hint of a woman’s twisting body if seen from different sides .
