A ferry trip to the MCA many years ago with young children and two dogs and a then visiting Bilbao a little while later, inspired this work. Seeing Jeff Koons’ mammoth “Puppy” a blend of old and new, was unforgettable. In “Aireplay” the whimsical floral coat is replaced by dyed recycled lace over a steel frame. Koons said his work ‘communicates love, warmth and happiness to everyone’. I hope my work conveys a sense of optimism without being overly sentimental.

I live in Sydney and studied at Sydney College of the Arts and a number of short courses at National Art School. My work is exhibited regularly and involves fortified, hand-dyed textiles, recycled material and foraging for other bits and pieces.
