This piece was inspired by my love of nature and its flowers. After the recent loss of my longtime companion Esther, I planted a lavender plant in my garden and with winter approaching I created this piece to have inside so that I could enjoy this wonderful plant and honour her memory.
I have enjoyed the benefit of lavender throughout my creative practice and with my mental health recovery journey.

Tara Mann
Specialise in felting, dying & using wool, cotton, sinamay, linen & silk.
I love creating new things out of old, reusing materials. I value upcycling, and I enjoy giving materials a new life. My work is environmentally sustainable, and I also use locally sourced materials and natural fibers. I have a wealth of experience with different fibers, fabrics and dying techniques.
I appreciate craftsmanship, creating one-off pieces, that are not mass produced. My creative process is organic with care, my pieces are individually unique, and my work is made in reflection of nature, incorporating and inspired by the local environment.
Exhibitions
As an emerging artist I have recently had some felted works exhibited at Gresford Community Gallery - GCG. My works were then encouraged to enter at the Gresford Agricultural Show, which achieved first and second place prize for their category, and I was awarded most successful exhibitor for the section.
I have been a feature artist at Mai Wel Art Studio in Maitland.
I was an entrant in Hunter Emerging Art Prize hosted by Newcastle Art Space, and currently have an exhibition proposal with Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
I have a mixed media piece on display at the Out Of The Blue Exhibition in Charlestown Library, an exhibition which is promoting awareness for mental health, a cause dear to my heart.
I currently have pieces on display and for sale at Dungog By Design.
