In this flame-inspired sculpture, the traditional weaving techniques with natural materials were used to evoke energy and spirit. This work reflects the energy and enthusiasm of those who created it.

Under the guidance of award winning fibre artist Catriona Pollard, a group of 20 ladies joined together in the CWA at Dungog to learn how to loop weave. Members of the group were: Alanna Garbutt, Bev Brooker, Chris Berry, Georgina U’Brien, Gisele Hindhaugh, Helene Leane, Jane Richens, Jenny Williams, Jo Simpson, Julia Polatos, Julie Fitzgerald, Kim Holmes, Maryann Wright, Michelle Frainey, Philippa Graham, Pip Nagle, Sarah Crawford, Sarah Kelly, Sarah U’Brien, Trudy Wright.

Catriona’s handcrafted fibre art merges organic textures with contemporary design, bringing nature-inspired elegance into residential and commercial spaces. Her shared her unique weaving processes that create sculptures that transform interiors with depth, beauty, and a profound connection to nature.
