This work investigated the complexity of what it takes to combine two simple wooden geometric shapes to create a richly coloured and dynamic work.
It speaks of being unafraid to move forward with confidence and purpose. Despite its static state, the sculpture is lively and actively participates in its surroundings.
As the day unfolds, the complex and changing tones of atmospheric light shift over their smooth surfaces, deepening monochromatic shadows within and spreading a graduating glow beyond their geometric boundaries.

That Is Exactly What Had To Be | 2024
Inspired by shifting light, my art practice is about perceptions in the natural world and social relationships; particularly, how what we see in nature and self can be hidden, obstructed or revealed from the shadows.
In 2023, I was honoured to receive the Sculpture on the Farm award for Excellence in Timber Work. Recently, I have been completing private commissions and participating in group exhibitions in Australia and Europe.
I am a multidimensional sculptor with a MFA (2019) and a BFA from the National Art School. Originally from NZ, I currently reside in Sydney.
