Requiem acts as a token of remembrance for things past. The work illuminates the delicate equilibrium between the interconnectedness of a tree and its root system. In this sense, the work juxtaposes many elements: visible with the invisible; strength and fragility and the past and the present.

Ulan & Rachel

Ulan & Rachel

Ulan Murray studied horticulture and completed a Biology Degree which informs his sculptural practice. As a lapsed biologist Ulan is still intrigued by biomorphic forms and nature is central to his work.

Rachel Burns studied Fine Arts at Sydney University and later completed her Bachelor of Creative Arts with Honours from Wollongong University. During this time Rachel studied painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Landscape has been a constant presence throughout her art practice.
