A thought is a ripple | 2021
The objective is as clear as the crisp mountain air of the sprawling Dungog landscape. I am to walk mindfully through the environment, honing my senses toward creating a sympathetic intervention of natural materials.
An abundance of fallen wood, running water, static stone and calling birds set the tempo for a responsive Earth Sculpture.

Gavin Vitullo
Gavin Vitullo is a multidisciplinary NSW Artist. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Newcastle.
Awards
Vitullo has accumulated numerous awards and accolades in sculpture, including consecutive honors in the Newcastle Emerging Artist Prize, and Sculptures in the Vineyards Sculpture Prize.
Commissions and Exhibitions
He has two commissioned public sculptures, installed in the Lake Macquarie area, titled 'UNDERCURRENT' (2017) and ‘IMPRINT’ (2023).
Vitullo’s 2020 solo exhibition 'NATURAL CAUSES', held at The Lock-Up, solidified his poetic and philosophical practice.
His affinity with the natural world is ever-present, as he combines concept and craftsmanship harmoniously through stone and wood.
