Vlase Nikoleski
I was born in Ohrid, North Macedonia,
Emigrated as a young man to Australia,
Enrolled in School of Art, Hobart (1970),
Graduated from VCA VIC (1975),
Completed research MFA UNSW (1987),
Enrolled in research PhD Deacon VIC (1998). I am currently living and working near Lake Macquarie NSW in Awabakal country.
My five decades of art practice has been preoccupied with the environmental affects of human activities using both conventional and non conventional materials.
The work is optimistic in spite of current dire predictions.
