Sculpture on the farm

Vivienne Lowe

Vivienne’s work “creates a tangible form to express the intangible” Her sculptures exhibit themes such as character, love, memories and connections – things we know and feel but can’t necessarily touch. Her sculptural explorations of how people connect with one another and their environment echoes from a background in landscape architecture which complements her public art works. This artist loves to experiment with materials to suit the means and has created works in bronze, clay, wire mesh, steel & stainless steel, resin, paperpulp and more. Her sculptures are often organic forms, stylized and with clean lines. However, intricate detailing and experiments with sound- namely music, can also be found in amongst her work. Vivienne lives and works in Sydney, Australia and is Vice President of The Sculptors Society.

Jenny Green

My sculptures are typically abstract, yet often influenced by the figure. Using lines, shapes and colours. I aim to capture a moment, a movement, a feeling. While my media may be industrial (steel, bronze, resin), my works are light and airy. With a BFA from National Art School, I’ve been sculpting for 20 years, and I exhibit in solo and group shows. I first started sculpting as a hobby while working in IT. After several years I felt the pull to spend more time as an artist and undertook a BFA at the National Art School. For some 20 years, I’ve worked in my studio in Brookvale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Finalist in numerous prizes including: Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, North Sydney Art Prize, Northern Beaches Art Prize, Sculpture at Sawmillers, University of Western Sydney Sculpture Award, Hornsby Art Prize, Tom Bass Prize for Figurative Sculpture, Harbour Sculpture and Sculpture in the Vineyards

From 2004 to 2007 I lived and worked in Chicago and formalised my practice at the Evanston Art Center under Matt Runfola. I now reside in Sydney where I work from my home studio/workshop. Leeroy Chapman

Leeroy Chapman is a emerging artist currently residing in Newcastle, Australia. At the closing end of his bachelors in fine arts at the University of Newcastle where he is a major in sculpture. Leeroy’s work is constantly exploring new ideas and approaches to the traditional sculpture of the western canon. Focusing on ideas of the body and how we can convey meaning through the use of materials, as Leeroy think that’s through finding meaning can we express concepts that can create change. While study Leeroy is also an avid supporter of the arts, working throughout multiple organisations in the Hunter to engage young audiences. He has further plans of continuing study to develop his practice through studio based research, while also working throughout the arts sector. Leeroy hopes once he’s competed studies to do a 2 year tour across multiple countries to further understand the cultural and historic significance sculpture has had on humanity

Liz Hughes

I have lived in Dungog for 8 years, moving from southern Sydney. I grew up with a creative mother and a sister who quickly surpassed mum with her sewing skills. Gradually I came on board with sewing and all things creative for which I’m eternally grateful! Sewing and a love of textiles are inspirational to me. I’ve become increasing environmentally aware as I’ve matured and delight in being able to upcycle something that would otherwise have gone to landfill In the last two years I have become a member of Dungog Artisans with a central gallery in Dungog. Together with about 30 other local artisans I’m lucky enough to exhibit my textile range and gain inspiration from these talented individuals. This is my first sculpture exhibition and my most ambitious mosaicking project to date.
