Greg Salter

Greg Salter has been making sculptures since 1993 when he finished his fine art diploma. He like to use scrap steel as his medium manipulating and shaping it to become a wide variety of animals and birds of many kinds he will also bring to life some of his imagination with creators and caricatures. Greg has lived and worked in the Hunter Valley all his life. Vivienne Lowe

Vivienne’s work “creates a tangible form to express the intangible” Her sculptures exhibit themes such as character, love, memories and connections – things we know and feel but can’t necessarily touch. Her sculptural explorations of how people connect with one another and their environment echoes from a background in landscape architecture which complements her public art works. This artist loves to experiment with materials to suit the means and has created works in bronze, clay, wire mesh, steel & stainless steel, resin, paperpulp and more. Her sculptures are often organic forms, stylized and with clean lines. However, intricate detailing and experiments with sound- namely music, can also be found in amongst her work. Will Maguire

I initially trained as an industrial blacksmith before travelling extensively as a journeyman learning from master smiths from Japan, to England, to Russia. With over a decade of independent practice and further study, I have tried to incorporate the love of this ancient craft with the tremendous potential and tensions of making sculpture. I currently work from an old Dairy in the Hunter Valley, on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua peoples. In 2020 I completed a degree in Philosophy and this has brought new depths of complexity into the act of working in the ancient craft of blacksmithing. I continue to enjoy working making practical and the sculptural items. Yet, it is often sculpture which I feel invigorated by the critical and interrogative thinking that can be overlayed onto the making process. Commissions and Exhibitions Completed over 10 significant public art commissions and collaborations in NSW, ACT, VIC and internationally, including as an invited master smith and designer for a 12-ton WW1 peace memorial in Belgium. Exhibited nationally in NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC across commercial, outdoor and regional…
