It’s a bit windy today | 2022

I could fry an egg on the bonnet of my car.
It’s raining cats and dogs.

If it’s blowing a gale, we may hear, “It’s a bit windy today”.

Three Bag Shelf | 2019

Three delicate miniature bags are in the shape of generic bags.
Copper has been manipulated and coated with vitreous enamel colours. Black cupric oxide, formed on the copper during kiln firing, enlivens their appearance.
The bags are constructed from thin copper to resemble paper. Arranged on a lightweight wooden shelf, they are permanently fixed for protection.

Do not squeeze the bags of thin copper and vitreous enamel ie form of glass, which is a durable surface and may be wiped.

Sculptural vessel number two | 2023

I loved creating this vessel, the slightly twisted form and the extended leaves were extra tricky but fun to accomplish.
Instead of making a vase in the traditional sense, I hoped to create a different and more interesting vessel which in itself has the idea of leaves in the form and enhances the normality straight idea of a vase.

This form has a hint of a woman’s twisting body if seen from different sides .

Threshold | 2023

Observing the movements of the body as it translates emotions, physical impairments, and pain thresholds of our bodily vessel. I primarily utilise materials easily malleable like soft metal rod, the pliable and viscosity of wax and the durability, strength, and the rich earthy tones of bronze. I translate the gestural line and form of the body in motion and express the rhythms that resonate within the form resilience to override adversity.

Island XV | 2023

My trees are not planned from meticulous drawings or models but instead come from my chisels and how I feel at the time of creating them.

I am an artist that loves the natural world and creating my interactions with it through forms such as sculpture, illustration and pyrography in mediums such as timber, stone, clay, paper and scraper board.

This piece is one of a series of different creations each exploring the transformation of inanimate steel into different textures and shapes expressing emotions and feelings. This piece is presenting the appearance of wound up tension held in place by one small balancing item but on the cusp of potential unravelling at any moment.

Identidad (Identity) | 2021

Is in the experimentation, the search of my inner voice, that I find myself shaping metal in straight curves and angles that define me today. The twist and defined lines of certainty on one side and the uncertainty, uneven, hidden.

During this personal journey I discover how my limitations feed my pursuit of identity.

“I’ll be when I’m ready, not before, probably after, maybe never.”

Includes 80cm plinth The fact of being who or what a person or thing is.

Shadow Dancer | 2022

The ‘Shadow Dancer’ sculpture bridges the gap between the digital and the real world. Its anamorphic shape is created by inverting the sculpture’s digital data and meticulously fabricating it, using a combination of prototyping equipment and manual labour.

Dancing Wire Screen | 2022

In this work I have created a screen which stands open and away from the wall so the interaction of the wires with their shadows is more dramatic.
