This highly abstracted sculpture represents an eagle in the dramatic moments of capturing a prey mid-flight. The eagle is a highly important and ancient totemic figure of indigenous cultures – hence the sculpture is poised on a tall, weathered steel base to convey these aspects. The quartz gem and use of stainless steel create dramatic contrasts and shadows.
Salvaged steel is used in keeping with my commitment to sustainable art-practice. The sculpture comes with base-plate to mount on a pad.
“Equilibrium” is a sculpture that embodies the fragility of existence in our environment. A large sandstone piece precariously balances on a polished bronze egg, symbolizing the delicate balance between the natural world and human intervention. The observer experiences the tension and vulnerability inherent in their surroundings.
In this hand drawn, hand cut scene, a Rainbow Lorikeet and a King Parrot meet on the branches of an Australian Native Bottlebrush.

Sculpture on the Farm Acquisitive Prize – $10,000 won by Braddon Snape – Nothin’ But Sky
This work beckons one to immerse oneself, to focus one’s view of the expansive Australian sky in a moment of isolation. As one projects one’s head through the portal one sees nothin’ but sky.
Used since the earliest of civilisations, this classical unicursal design has been used for decoration and for religious and therapeutic uses in the form of a meditative walk.
I am interested in beacons, locating devices and where we as humans roam on the planet. This sculpture is an exploration of those thoughts.
Inspired by the idiom ‘stretching the imagination’, large hands stretch a face into a broad smile. Views through spaces in eye sockets and cheeks spark imagination. The surface is rounded and tactile.
I try to suggest movement and potential. Not fixed, able to move on and out. I enjoy working at this scale. It feels good.
