The pieces are hand built from clay with impressed natural textures.
This piece is hand built from clay coils. The shape balances delicately as does our natural environment. Subdued, natural colour adds a calm, peaceful vibe as you gaze through the trees.
The shape of the grassy tower echoes the strong natural form of a tree trunk. Textured with the often mesmerizing patterns of tall grasses moving in a breeze.
This piece is inspired by the natural landscape. The form is hand built with clay coils allowing the shape to evolve with an organic feel. Textures and surfaces are enhanced with natural oxides.
Exploration of form, movement and aesthetic. Inspired by William Morris, Japanese woodblock, and Japanese ceramic design.
Water ebbs and flows. It falls and coils and pools.
My aim was to create the effect of the constant shifting water – reinventing of the dance of water itself – without anything actively moving.
The turbulent sea is the inspiration for this organic sculpture, the lines and curves suggesting the peaks and troughs of the ocean, with mermaids and sea creatures glimpsed playing in the swell.
