My work consolidates illusions and realities of the mind that manifest through sculpture by transforming feelings and ideas into compositions that aim to stimulate new perceptions.
The odyssey of the figure in the boat is a metaphor relating to life’s journey, a voyage through time. An enigmatic situation which takes on symbolic values and multiple layers of meaning.

The shadow of the figure should be tightly bound to it. But this shadow has set itself free. The idea stems from an Ancient Egyptian funerary belief that the deceased’s shadow could leave the tomb.

The figure appears on a threshold, undecided wether he should continue, whilst the shadow leads on a pathway that apparently has no obstacles through a doorway to another place and time.

This sculpture was inspired by the bushfires in 2019/20, showing the beauty of the Australian bush and how it can turn so deadly so quickly.
This work sat unfinished for about 2 years. It represents patience, perseverance and that moment you’re finally ready to take on the “too hard” basket.
This piece is hand built from clay coils. The shape balances delicately as does our natural environment. Subdued, natural colour adds a calm, peaceful vibe as you gaze through the trees.
The shape of the grassy tower echoes the strong natural form of a tree trunk. Textured with the often mesmerizing patterns of tall grasses moving in a breeze.
The reeds in my creek and the lizards and dragonflies sitting on them inspired these sculptures.
This piece is inspired by the natural landscape. The form is hand built with clay coils allowing the shape to evolve with an organic feel. Textures and surfaces are enhanced with natural oxides.
Inspired by the weather this sculpture takes the impact erosion of sandstone cliffs on the coast into the bush and creating the Burl Tafoni.
